In this edition of SME Commercial magazine we have a great article
on affordable marketing ideas for Small Businesses. While reading the
article, which was kindly supplied by Franchise Finder, I thought that
it would be a good exercise to see how many of our clients have a
website and how regularly they are maintained. In edition to the SME
Commercial Magazine we also publish the D’ville Ads and Showcase
magazines and have built up a significant client base of businesses,
which I was able to draw on for this exercise.
I can tell you that I was quiet amazed that in 2012 there are still a lot
of businesses that don’t have a website and surprised by the number
of websites that aren’t maintained on a regular basis. Unless you are a
retail store in a busy shopping centre, or located on a busy road then
the website is your virtual premises.
Your website is being used not just by clients but also suppliers,
prospective employees, financial institutions, etc. They are looking
for more than just the products or services that you offer but are
forming an impression of your business based on the look, feel and
content of your site.
I encourage all small business owners to invest in a website as part of
their marketing campaign and update the content on a regular basis.
